I spent a lot of time here back in my ISU days when I was an employee. Such great food! The 747 is gigantic, the deep dish is deep and very good, can't go wrong with the sandiwches, and the breadsticks with cheese are really great. I'd say it says a lot that even though I worked in the kitchen there, I never got sick of it. I know someone complained that the deep dish took a while to get to their table, and I'll counter that with 'do you have any idea how long it takes that pizza to bake and not come out dough-y?" They have it down to an art over there. They make it fresh, so call ahead a bit if that's the way you are leaning and you don't like hanging out with your company, or order breadsticks and eat those as you wait! Oh, and this may sound silly, but from an insider, if you get the cheese and marinara sauces for the breadsticks, they are pretty good mixed. :)

Best pizza in Terre Haute, an institution. I prefer the Sicilian style crust. Toppings you won't find at any other pizza joint in the Terre Haute area.

We are out-of-towners, choose this place based in other Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. We got the 747, scillian style and loved it!

Best Pizza in Terre Haute, hands down. Home of the 747. They know how to make a pizza. Nice, crispy thin (but not too thin) crust with a sauce that is just right. Not too salty, and not too sweet either. They have a decent topping list and their breadsticks are delicious. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable! I prefer carryout, but they can fit a decent sized group in their back room. The place is small, but quaint. Walking in there, the smell of the place is heavenly. My stomach is growling as I write this review. One of the reasons I miss living in Terre Haute is because of Maurizio's! Order a 747 with pepperoni, american sausage, onion, green pepper, green olives, and mushrooms. Thank me later.

From out of town, was looking for a really good pizza and this wasn't it. The crust was burnt and the toppings were almost nonexistent. I wouldn't feed this to a dog.

If you are from the Terre Haute area then you know about this pizza. It is a staple food for locals. It's not like any pizza i have ever had really. That is a good thing though. I have eaten pizza from Brooklyn to Chicago and a lot of points in between, and this is one i still crave on a regular basis. If you are hungry order a 747 sicilian style. You won't be disapointed. The salads are awesome as well. The amount of cheese and topping are ridiculous. Try it. It's worth it.

I'm from out of town, wanted something besides chain pizza. After a brief review of the menu I ordered a Sicilian with a few toppings. Sweet baby Jesus, if you like cheese, (and I do!) this is the place for you! There was so much cheese I...I'm in pizza heaven. Good crust, sauce was a teeny bit spicy. I'm so glad I ordered from Maurizio's! (Fast delivery too, considering I was quoted 45 minutes and it took maybe 30.)

I lived in San Diego 13 years and no one here does pizza like Maurizio's Whenever I come home to visit I have to come here once or twice. I love the vast amount of toppings, especially the sea food. Clams, Shrimp, Green Olives and Mushrooms on a 747 is my absolute favorite pizza of all time.

Always good. The thicker style Sicilian is good and loaded with cheese and toppings, and the regular thin/hand-tossed is satisfying too. Good sauce, not pasty like other places. Feeding a group? Get the 747 American Special and a side of nacho cheese. Caution: you may feel guilty afterwards.

Maurizios has been around for a long time. The owners from Jim Eslinger to now Eric Eslinger are great. The food, whether sandwiches, breadsticks or their phenomenal pizza is something you have to check out. Either the Wabash or the Lafayette Ave location, you will not disappointed!
